The Dodge Charger keeps building its "cred" - on the street and in the cabin.

Adding to its street cred, the Dodge brand has come out with a noir edition of the 2013 Charger R/T, joining the previously released Charger SXT Blacktop, USA Today noted.

Everything is black - paint, wheels, crosshair-style grille, spoilers and yes, even the tires, the paper said.

"The Blacktop package on the Dodge Charger has proven to be a resounding success by combining a customized one-of-a-kind appearance with great value," Reid Bigland, the Dodge brand's CEO, told USA Today.

Inside, the Charger is winning fans with the quality of its interactive communication systems.

The Dodge Charger's Uconnect system, which manages the stereo, heated seats, climate controls, navigation, Bluetooth and backup camera, works so well because the controls are intuitive, displays are legible and common procedures are logical and straightforward, Automobile Magazine said.

Maybe it's because the designers put simplicity and usability ahead of seldom-used, gimmicky features, or maybe it's just a betterproduct than the competition - "the Charger's Uconnect system and its 8.4-inch touchscreen win near-universal praise," the magazine said.

The Charger strikes the perfect balance of functional buttons and knobs for critical tasks with the sleek minimalism of a touchscreen interface, the article said. The navigation system is easy to use, and the Charger's Bluetooth system is one of the few systems that understands how call waiting worked, Automobile said.
