At Goss Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram, we know how much you love your Ram 1500. It helps you on the jobsite, it can tow the boat to the lake on the weekends, and it simply makes driving in Chittenden County, South Burlington, and St. Albans, Vermont, better. Want to ensure it stays in tip-top condition well into the future? Then you're going to need routine maintenance.

To help you know when to schedule your appointments and what is included in each service visit, we've put together this guide on the Ram 1500 maintenance schedule. Knowledge is power, and with this timeline on your side, you can hit the roads in your Ram 1500 for many more miles.

Oil Change Intervals & Appointments

The Ram 1500 is outfitted with an automatic oil change indicator system. This will let you know when it's time for scheduled maintenance by illuminating the oil change indicator on your dashboard. This gives you a completely personalized reminder that is based on your unique Ram 1500's performance.

When this happens, make sure to schedule your appointment as soon as possible. During your visit, a certified technician will change the oil and its filter, as well as rotate the tires. They'll also perform an inspection of the following to ensure your Ram 1500 is in good health:

  • Battery (the battery will also receive a good cleaning and the terminals will be tightened if needed)
  • CV and universal joints
  • Brake pads, rotors, hoses, and other brake components
  • Engine cooling system and hoses
  • Exhaust system
  • Engine air cleaner (this will also be replaced if needed)

Every 20,000 Miles

Along with your regular oil change and inspection visits, you'll need to schedule an appointment for Ram 1500 maintenance at the 20,000-mile mark.

For this visit, the technicians will dive a little deeper to make sure your Ram is running smoothly after such a milestone. This includes the following (if needed):

  • Inspect front suspension and tie rod ends
  • Replace brake linings
  • Replace cabin air filter

Every 30,000 Miles

When you reach 30,000 miles on your odometer, it'll be time for another maintenance appointment. This visit will include:

  • Inspection of the front and rear axle surfaces
  • Replacement of the engine air cleaner
  • Change of axle fluid

Every 100,000 Miles

Along with the 20,000-mile maintenance, the 100,000-mile service appointment adds in more services to ensure your Ram runs smoothly after so many miles on the road.

This visit will include the following:

  • Replacement of spark plugs
  • Flush and replacement of engine coolant
  • Inspection and replacement of PCV valve
