If you're in the market for a new minivan to accommodate you and your growing family on your trips around the Burlington, Chittenden County, and St. Albans area, you have a variety of choices at your fingertips. The 2017 Chrysler Pacifica has already made itself known in this automotive category with its abilities and features, but how does it compare to the Nissan Quest?

We're going to throw these two popular minivans into the mix to see which one offers you the most. In our vehicle comparison, we'll focus on engine performance, entertainment and technology, and safety ratings. Reading this review will help you learn about both vehicles, but it may also help you make up your mind about which minivan is the one for you and your family.

Chrysler Pacifica vs Nissan Quest: Engine Performance

Underneath the hood of the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica is a 3.6-liter V6 engine. The 2016 Nissan Quest is equipped with a 3.5-liter V6. As far as power is concerned, the Pacifica can reach 287 horsepower with 262 lb-ft of torque. The Quest, although powerful, doesn't hold up to the competition because it maxes out at 260 horsepower with 240 lb-ft of torque.

Entertainment and Technology

The 2017 Chrysler Pacifica is equipped with a 6-speaker sound system with Active Noise Cancellation. This feature prevents unwanted exterior noises from interfering with your listening pleasure. The Nissan Quest only features 4 speakers, and the speed-sensitive volume control option isn't available at the base level.

The Pacifica takes its technology further with the Uconnect® system, which features a touchscreen display and Integrated Voice Command with Bluetooth®. This allows you to make or receive phone calls from the road by using your voice while keeping your hands firmly on the wheel. The Quest, on the other hand, doesn't feature Bluetooth® or a touchscreen.

Safety Ratings

When it comes to finding the right minivan for your family, safety is one of the most important factors to consider. You want to be sure that the vehicle can provide the necessary protection in the event of a collision.

According to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica performed so well that it was awarded the 2016 Top Safety Pick+ designation due to its good ratings and superior front crash prevention. The 2016 Nissan Quest didn't perform as well, even getting a poor rating in its small overlap front crash category.
