Celebrating the luck of the Irish has never been more delightful in South Burlington, VT. With so many special events taking place as part of the 20th Annual Burlington Irish Heritage Festival, you can spend more than a week celebrating.
This year's Irish Heritage Festival will take place from Tuesday, March 10 through Saturday, March 21. Among the 12 events slated for the festival are the following
- Your Irish Genealogy: Discover your roots on Tuesday, March 10 from 7 to 8 pm in Room 202 at Dupont Hall in Fort Ethan Allen, Colchester, VT. Pick up an Irish genealogy book and enjoy some refreshments.
- Caitlín Nic Gabhann and Ciarán Ó Maonaigh: These two award-winning Irish musicians will perform on March 11 beginning at 6 pm at the Burlington Violin Shop at 23 Church Street. This event is sponsored by Young Tradition Vermont.
- Celtic Cats Showcase: The University of Vermont Irish Step Dance Club will perform some of its most recent work in the dance studio at Patrick Gym, 97 Spear Street in Burlington. This event is free to the community and will also feature special guests from other university music and dance groups.
Celtic Kids Crafts: Get the kiddos prepped for tiny leprechauns to visit with a craft to celebrate the day. Check it out on Saturday, March 14 from 10 am to noon in the Fletcher Room at the Fletcher Free Library, 235 College Street in Burlington.- Music and Tales from Ireland from Hilari Farrington and Benedict Koehler: This event will take place on Saturday, March 14 from 11 am until noon in the Pickering Room of the Fletcher Free Library. Enjoy harp music and tales of Irish heritage and customs and even a few traditional stories.
