If there's one thing that's certain about the midsize sedan segment these days, it's that it's no longer a sector where boring cars are going to fly. Luckily for the folks at our preferred automaker, their newest offering is anything but.
This past week at the Detroit Auto Show, Chrysler introduced us to the 2015 200--a ground up refresh of their safe and efficient midsize sedan. To our eyes, they really hit a home run with this model, and not just visually, either.
The 2015 200 is the product of consumer research. Everything from interior space to performance has been thoroughly researched, and it shows. The new sedan offers a premium feeling and comfortable interior with an UConnect infotainment system front and center, and a shift knob in place of the usual upright gear.
For drivetrain options, Chrysler is offering the new sedan with both front and all-wheel drive options, the latter offering an intelligent rear axle disconnect for fuel economy purposes. The choice of mills are either the 2.4-liter Tigershark four-cylinder, or the automaker's oft-awarded 3.6-liter Pentastar V6, which will offer a segment-topping 295 horsepower in this implementation.
As for looks? This car's got it. The 200 now features a streamlined aerodynamic profile--yet another way Chrysler took fuel economy into account in the design process. The car is led and followed by LED lighting, with innovative turn signals mounted just forward of the front wheel well.
The 2015 200 is slated to go on sale at our South Burlington, VT dealership this summer.
It may be cold in Burlington, but it's hot as summer on our lot. Come by and let us introduce you to the wide variety of new Chrysler offerings we have available.
