As someone that has been around the 2013 RAM 1500 as much as I have, I was not surprised by this award. It was almost expected. It was sort of like when the Rolling Stones were inducted into the Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame (not the best reference, but just roll with me here). They knew they were going to get in, it was just a matter of when. Once you have experienced every 2013 half-ton truck, you will understand for yourself. We really encourage you to.
A few weeks ago, we had a dealer training session that involved bringing in the RAM's top competitors. We were put on a test-drive with each top competing truck; including the 2013 Chevrolet Silverado and the 2013 Ford F-150. It was very clear right from the get-go that the RAM was miles ahead with fit/finish and furthermore light-years ahead in ride quality. We took each truck down bumpy roads as well as some mild off-roading. The competitors weren't even close.
The Motor Trend Truck of the Year award is a great accomplishment for the RAM brand as it has solidified it's own identity as force to be reckoned with. It stands for supreme usability for every type of truck owner. Offering nine different trim levels and three different engine types, there is a RAM 1500 for nearly every light duty truck buyer. We are very proud of this truck.
