Many think they need a good reason to take off in a new Dodge for a getaway cruise. That's balderdash to us at Goss Dodge Chrysler; we've got plenty of stretches of road, like Route 7, that offer beautiful views and the ability to let loose whenever we feel like it. But, if you need a reason, the end of the world suffices.

You'll remember a few months back when all the hubbub was about the Mayans and their prediction that the world would end. Once we determined that we'd live to see 2013, all of that became a distant memory. However, some fans of the Dodge Challenger wanted to make sure they had a bit of fun, just in case the apocalypse did come.

The West Coast Challengers Car Club out in California put together a trip in the days leading up to the supposed doomsday. They drove through the land of the Cahuilla Indians to connect with their cars, and some Native Americans at the same time.

Not a bad idea, end of the world or not, if you ask us.

Of course, with the Dodge Challenger, there's never a dull moment. You can pick the Pentastar V-6 with 305 horsepower or the HEMI V-8 with 375 ponies. You've got room for five, and loads of Dodge parts giving it a classic muscle car feel blending modernity and tradition together seamlessly.
