Like any Jeep vehicle, the new Cherokee features impressive capability that can get you through some truly tough terrain. If you opt for the Trailhawk® model, your Cherokee will proudly wear the Trail Rated® Tough badge. In order to earn that designation, it had to pass grueling tests measuring ground clearance, traction, water fording, articulation, and maneuverability.
Additionally, the Jeep Cherokee can be outfitted with the Jeep Selec-Terrain® Traction Management System, which grants you the ability to change the Cherokee's drivetrain on the fly in response to different challenges. Jeep Cherokee Engine Power
Most Jeeps are extensively customizable, and the Cherokee is no different-especially when it comes to the engine. There are three engines available for this crossover, and each has something special to offer. The standard engine is a 2.4-liter four-cylinder that offers 180 horsepower and 171 lb-ft of torque.
If you want some more power, you can opt for the Jeep Cherokee's 3.2-liter V6. This impressive engine boasts 271 horsepower with 239 lb-ft of torque. If you're more concerned with balancing efficiency and power, the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder may be your speed. It offers 270 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque, while still maintaining an EPA-estimated 31 MPG highway, thanks to its turbocharger and dual variable valve timing.
Jeep Cherokee Interior
Inside the Cherokee, you'll find plenty of room for passengers and cargo alike. In the front, you'll enjoy 41.1 inches of legroom and 39.4 inches of headroom. Meanwhile, your rear passengers will have access to 38.5 inches of headroom and 40.3 inches of legroom. In terms of cargo, the Jeep Cherokee can hold a maximum of 54.9 cubic feet of cargo. Even if you leave the seats up, you'll still have 24.6 cubic feet of cargo space to work with.
The Cherokee's interior is also outfitted with some of the latest in automotive technology. The Uconnect® infotainment system features both Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay®, allowing you to connect your smartphone to your car, granting access to some of your favorite apps. You can even opt for an onboard 4G Wi-Fi Hotspot and an 8.4-inch screen with a navigation system.
