If you love great beer, tasty food, live music, and having an amazing time in your community, look no further than Oktoberfest in Vermont. For two days this September 20th and 21st, Waterfront Park in Burlington transforms into a Bavarian dream. So, grab your lederhosen and beer maid outfit and get ready to have some unadulterated fun.

Cheers to Beer

BeerThough this event is more than just enjoying some amazingly crafted brews, it wouldn’t be Oktoberfest without a stein full of foamy deliciousness. More than 40 brewers are going to be there this year, allowing you to sample 100 plus beers at this adult-style carnival.

All you need to do is purchase the drink tickets and get to sipping. You can choose between four- or eight-ounce pours, allowing you to find a new favorite beer right on the shores of Lake Chaplin. With local, regional, and famed German breweries supplying their beverages, there is truly something for everyone. Some notable brewers include:

  • Long Trail Brewing Company – Vermont
  • Paulaner Munich Bier – Germany
  • Citizen Cider – Vermont
  • Rothaus – Germany
  • Foolproof Brewing – Rhode Island

Authentic German Eats

Kountry Kart Deli will also be serving up Rise and Shiner Schnitzel, which includes beautifully prepared schnitzel with egg, hash browns, and cheese. Simply tasty.

You’ll also find selections from Home Sweet VT bakery for those sweet tooths out there, fresh Maine lobster rolls from Bar Harbor Lobster Co, and handmade brats from Picnic Provisions. And this is just the beginning.

Tap Your Feet

During the whole weekend, you’ll be able to see dancing and even groove yourself to some authentic German music, as well as modern takes on Bavarian favorites. Friday, Josh Panda and the Party Band hit the stage with an hour set of classic and Bavarian tunes. Saturday, the weekend closes out with a special performance from Craig Mitchell performing a Bavarian take of Purple Rain, a must-see.

The Inseldudlers will also be playing both days, stunning the crowd with traditional German music. Get ready for the chicken dance!
